HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY

06/07/12 -  Wow how fast a year goes by!!  Logan is getting so big!  We had two birthday parties for Logan, one with Paul’s family and one with Tiffany’s family.  He is really into trucks and wheels, and he ended up getting a lot of them for his birthday.  He was in heaven!!!  He wasn’t to sure about his cake that he was given to dive into, but after inspecting it for a while he ended up loving the frosting.  He loved it so much that he decided to share it with his friend, Nathan.

STITCHES!!!

We had a terrible day on April 12. Our basement flooded due to the secondary water, so we had to haul a lot of our basement furniture to our garage.  We were in the garage working on drying out our lovesac and Logan decided to walk along the walls to find us in the garage.  He got to our door and made a noise like HELLO LOOK AT ME.  We both looked and he got so excited he started to fall and he grabbed the speaker stand next to the garage and the speaker stand fell on top of him and cut his head.  We had to rush him to the hospital because as you may know, head cuts bleed A LOT!!  He ended up having to get 10 stitches!!!  They had to sedate him to put the stitches in.  He is going to have an AWESOME scar!!!  I keep telling my self that it's character!  He was so good at the hospital.  We were there forever.  It happened about 10:00 am and we got to the hospital at 10:15 and we did not leave until 4:30 pm.  They didn't ever start the sedation until about 12:30.  They didn't put him totally out, it was a shot (Ketamine) they gave in him his leg that made him sleepy within 5 minutes but he was still conscious. After the stitches, we had to wait for him to come out of the sedation and be able to hold his head up and drink juice.  It was funny watching him come out of the sedation because they said it would feel like he was drunk.  He tried to crawl but could not hold his head up and he would hold up his hands and look at them like WOW!  I figured he would be fussy that night but he was so good.  We also figured he would rub the stitches but when we put the medicine on he never touched it.  WHAT A GOOD LITTLE BOY!!!

SEALING 12/10/12

What an amazing day!  We had the opportunity to go to the Logan Temple to have Logan sealed to our family.  Chambray was sealed to us in the Logan Temple in 2007 and she wanted to share HER temple with Logan.  She was able to go in with us and witness the sealing.  Logan cried the whole time but it still was wonderful!!!  Our kids looked so beautiful in their white!  After the sealing, we had his baby blessing and then a dinner.  We are so blessed to have Logan in our lives!  He looked so cute in his tuxedo!!

We are excited to announce that our adopted son, Logan Paul was born on June 7, 2011. He was 5lbs 3oz and 18.5 inches long. He was born a month early so he was super TINY! His preemie clothes drown him!

We were invited by Logan's birthmom, Jenni, to be at the hospital when he was born. Paul and I stood outside the delivery room and as soon as he was born they brought him out in the hall in the hospital bed and put a hospital band on me. The nurse took Logan and I to the nursery and I watched them take his vitals, bath him, dress him, and then I got to feed him his first bottle! Wow, what an experience! Since Logan was born a month early, the hospital required that he had to stay for 48 hours (Stay until Thurs). He was born early on a Tuesday morning and Jenni was released from the hospital Wednesday morning. They put me in a room and called it boarding. The nurse that helped with everything was awesome! I loved her! So when you are boarding, they give you a room but they can not bring you meals or drinks. (I guess the boarding people work the nurses more than the actual patients) My nurse came into the room and said that she had an extra tray and it was going to go to waste if I didn't take it! (I think she really ordered it for me) She also gave me one of those cool mugs from the hospital with water! I know it is silly but I always wanted one! It was so amazing to have the full experience!

Thursday morning, Logan was struggling a little. The Dr. said that he was eating enough to stay hydrated but not enough to grow. When Jenni was pregnant she was having problems with her kidneys and had to take medication. The Dr. said that Logan might also be having withdrawls from the medication. They transferred him to the NICU and I had to leave my boarding room. We received a phone call from a different Dr. later that evening and he said that Logan was having withdrawls and that he would be in the NICU for a week. That was a hard phone call to receive. We went to the hospital later that night and the nurse informed us that Logan was improving and that they had not done any treatments for him yet. The next morning (Fri) we received a phone call from another Dr. stating that Logan was going great and that he was not having withdrawls. His problem was that when he was in the normal nursery that were using normal nipples and when he was transferred to the NICU that started using preemie nipples and he was eating much more. The Dr. wanted him to stay until the next morning just to make sure that everything was good. So finally on Saturday morning, we were able to bring Logan home from the hospital. He was born at the Timpanogas Hospital in Orem.

HALLOWEEN 2010

Wow...where has the time gone? I need to do some catch up. So lets talk about Halloween. We
asked Chambray what she wanted to be for Halloween and out of the blue she said she wanted to be a RODEO QUEEN. This was the funnest costume to put together!! I have to say she is pretty adorable! At our ward trunk-or-treat, they had a costume contest. Everyone voted on costumes and Chambray won the best overall costume. Her face was priceless when they said her name. She was so excited! I have to admit that I had a tear in my eye.

Preschool Starts

This morning I dropped Chambray off at preschool. She went last year to another preschool and she was so excited to start her NEW preschool today. This year it was a little harder driving away after dropping her off then it was last year because I started thinking this is the year before Kindergarten. She is also going 3 days a week this year and only went 2 days last year. MY LITTLE GIRL IS GROWING UP!!!
